What Is the Light Adjustable Lens?

The Light Adjustable Lens™ by RxSight is an innovative intraocular lens (IOL) implanted during cataract surgery that can be adjusted postoperatively to refine and enhance visual outcomes. How Does It Work?

The process of achieving optimal vision with the Light Adjustable Lens involves several steps:

Lens Implantation: During cataract surgery, the Light Adjustable Lens is implanted just like any other monofocal IOL.
Initial Healing: Over the following 2 to 3 weeks, the eye heals and stabilizes. During this time, patients wear special UV-blocking glasses to protect the lens from unintended exposure.
Light Adjustment Sessions: Using a specialized Light Delivery Device (LDD), controlled UV light is applied in-office to change the shape and prescription of the lens. Each session is painless and takes only about 90 seconds. Patients undergo between 1 and 3 light adjustment sessions spaced a minimum of 5 days apart.
